What previous YAF participants say about us

Green Crescent Youth Advocacy Forum offers young people a space to enhance their commitment to public health and sustainable development in the broad sense. Given the challenges facing our world, the contribution of this forum is highly commendable as it is a platform for knowledge and experience sharing that builds the capacity of young people to advocate for positive transformations in their communities.

Sessou Leonce Dieudonne

Executive Secretary, African Tobacco Control Alliance (ATCA)

Being involved as a speaker at the Turkish Green Crescent Society's Youth Advocacy Forum was both an insightful and inspiring experience. Getting engagement from young people from different countries has shown me how the advocacy for alcohol policies can be further strengthened with the support of the youth. Knowing that young people will be more empowered with knowledge and awareness about alcohol harm not only to themselves but also to their communities and their societies inspires me to conduct more alcohol policy research for advocacy.

Gayle Amul

Board Member, Global Alcohol Policy Alliance

It’s a delight to observe youths come together in youth-centered events and become empowered to make positive influences in their home communities. The Youth Advocacy Forum provides active young leaders a chance to connect with each other, and learn from experts and panelists the science that will best support and ground their initiatives.

It has been an honour and pleasure speaking in the Youth Advocacy Forum of the Green Crescent. Although I cannot consider myself young any more, their spirit and enthusiasm have been an inspiration to me which has further spurred me to continue with my work and research. Keep up the good work Youth Advocacy!

All the reputable speakers really gave it their all in providing us with such valuable knowledge. It really gave us youth the chance to voice out our concerns & questions regarding addiction. Due to this youth forum, I feel a strong calling to educate my peers regarding addiction. Since I have retrieved more knowledge in this matter, I am more confident to answer my peer’s queries regarding addiction with all the facts & statistics I gained.

This loss had shaken me to the bones and I decided to assist my friends in similar positions so as to prevent any such situation from happening again. I would like to continue in the area of advocacy thanks to the information I learnt from the forum.
